Week 2 EOC : Three Examples Of Questionable Ethics

My first example of a questionable ethic is going to be based on dietary supplements. According to The Dietary Supplement Heath and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA), the dietary supplement or dietary ingredient manufacturer is responsible for ensuring the supplement or ingredient is safe before it is marketed. As far as people saying not all dietary plans work , they do as long as you do everything that is instructed or needed . You cannot just take the supplement and plan to lose weight without working out or exercising and eating healthy.

My second example of a questionable ethic is going to be area 51. Alot of people believe the military created Area 51 to experiment and hide "extra terestrial" life from all of the citizens. You are not allowed to visit this area unless you are military and even then you are sworn to secrecy. If you are an employee you are required to park miles away and you will then be transported to work.  Area 51 sits on a dry lake bed called " groom ". The closest town is Rachel , Nevada , which is 25 miles north  of the base. As far as we have proof of Area 51 is " the testing of technologies and system training for operations critical to the effectiveness of U.S military forces and the security of the United States.

My third and last example of a questionable ethic is going to be Marijuana. There are doctors and stoners and constant people everyday who smoke or prescribe marijuana all over the world. Marijuana is a plant, so its natural , and natural is always good right ? Think again because both natural and synthetic marijuana can cause long-lasting , negative impact on your developing brain. Using Marijuana at a young age slow the growth in your brain , hints why we have late reactions to things when under the influence of marijuana. Marijuana smoke contains 50%-70% more carcinogenic hydrocarbons then tobacco smoke. Marijuana is usually called the "Gateway" drug but like any other drug or alcohol if you become dependent on it , it can potentially harm you. Although there have not been any recorded deaths due to Marijuana the only way I know you can die from smoking it is if you smoke your weight or more at one sitting. (which is physically impossible you would fall asleep) .

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

My name is Chelsee Fane. Twenty years ago I was born in a town called Ukiah , CA. When I was around twelve years old, my mother Kim decided to move us here to Las Vegas. Over the years I have been threw so many obstacles which have made me grow so much as an independent woman. About 6 years ago I fully understood what it means to be responsible. From paying bills, insurance, gas, bills, rent, fines, etc. threw me into the world. I felt lost and lonely and it took a lot for me to completely do everything on my own. I got a job and worked full time , overtime , anything they needed me to. I loved the hours and how busy it kept me but I started realizing that I wasn't motivated anymore for just work. I decided I needed to do something else with my time and that when I decided I wanted to look into Fashion School. Fashion has always been a passion of mine. I mean if you look in my closet you will see that I have just about everything , and if not everything, like i said just about! I was sitting in my room looking at schools and programs and at that moment I picked up paper and pen and started to sketch. I drew and drew for hours and came up with several dresses , bathing suits , etc. and I decided I wanted to open my own clothing line. I found A.I.I and registered for classes. When I started I never knew I'd have this much fun doing something I truly love. I hope that when school is finished I will be able to open my own store and help give proceeds to non profit organizations , sort of how " toms " does. I want to give back and have people who spend hundreds on clothes and material things help give back to.

Week 1 BOC: Volkswagen Add

The beetle was a compact automobile made in the 1950’s by the Nazis in Wolfsburg, Germany,  which was perceived to make it more challenging to sell the vehicle (being that the car was designed in Nazi Germany). It was made cheap and affordable so the German people had transportation.  Adolf Hitler was not the original inventor of the Volkswagen. Ferdinand Porsche was already working on it when Adolf Hitler began helping. Fun fact, the Jewish people were the ones to promote the Germans Automobile.  Around 3,389 men were inspectors for the company. Only one, Kurt Kroner, found something wrong with the car. In 1974 the congress passed the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. “The Lemon Law” was placed to protect car buyers from purchasing a car which is not safe or as valuable as it seemed. “Lemon” is the term used for this law in reference to a car being sour, not a good purchase, waste of money. The Lemon Law is almost the same everywhere, but each state has different terms and laws. It is now why we have warranties, so when purchased from a business we are able to return the item for a refund. People were stuck with these defected items because there was no law for people to have warranty on purchased items. Most people assume the Lemon Law is only meant for automobiles, but it actually covers all consumers’ purchases of non-perishable items with a value of $15 or more. The Lemon ad was made by Doyle Dane Bernbach (DDB). Think Small was an advertising campaign for the Volkswagen Beetle, created by Julian Koenig at the Doyle Dane Bernbach agency in 1959. It was ranked as the best advertising campaign of the 20th century by Ad Age.  Bernbach took a German car originally created for Adolph Hitler (the Volkswagen Beetle) and sold it to post-war Americans through radically styled advertisements.
